As children pass from the middle school years on to high school many parents wonder about continuing with homeschool.

College looms on the horizon and there is the fear that a homeschooled child may not have as many opportunities to enter a good college.

But fears of this kind have been put to rest as the occasional news blurb attests to that fact that many colleges are more interested in the knowledge and behavior of the homeschooled children rather than their high school diplomas. In fact, other things being similar many colleges prefer homeschoolers because of the diversity and richness they bring to their college life.

But admission requirements may vary and while some colleges require the SAT, others may only need a general equivalency diploma. And some may not even care for any tests at all. All in all the criterion may vary depending upon the college that your child wishes to apply to.

Start early in preparing your homeschooled child for their senior year and college. Look into the requirements the schools you may be have. Put together that portfolio listing accomplishments and more.
